Loyal Order of Moose
Moose Lodge 1336 is the East Stroudsburg branch of the Loyal Order of the Moose. We are a family center with a goal of helping our local community.
History Of The Moose Lodge And What We Do
The moose lodge is an international organization and started as a social club in 1888. A significant person in the history of the moose lodge is James J. Davis. He can be credited for expanding the moose lodge and the creation of programs, like moose heart.
Moose Lodge 1336 is the Stroudsburg branch of this vast organization. The moose lodge works under the motto “A burden heavy to one is borne lightly by many”. This means that our lodge works with the local community in many charitable programs. As a lodge we host many fundraisers and events to give back locally. Some examples of this are helping out the local Boy Scout Troop, hosting scholarships funds, and family events.
Moose international has many programs and initiatives. Some of these programs are Moose Heart a residential childcare facility and Moose Haven a retirement living facility. We encourage you to check out Moose International website to see more about what this organization does on an international level. In addition to a International website there is also a state level (pamoose.org).
What Is Unique About Our Lodge
Every Moose lodge has something unique about it. Here in East Stroudsburg we have a grand hall, a children's playground, and pavilion that we host events between two lovely parks along the Broadhead creek.
We host many events throughout the year and are constantly improving. Recently we built an outdoor stage to host outdoor events. If you are curious on what event we are hosting check out our calendar.
Who can Join The Moose
To become a member all you need is a current member to sponsor you and an application. The application process is simple and the form is available in our lodge or online. We are constantly looking for new members to help out so do not be afraid to ask how you can help.
